Each 5ml contains extract from:

Ivy leaf 35mg
Glycyrrhiza glabra 15mg
Adhatoda vasica 10mg

DESCRIPTION:

IVA is sugar free and non-sedative syrup effective for all types of cough. IVA is made from Ivy leaf which grow on evergreen woody plant called IVY OR Hedera.

MECHANISM OF ACTION:

IVA is made from Ivy leaf, Glycyrrhiza glabra and Adhatoda vasica. Ivy leaf: The main components of Ivy leaf that give it its health benefits are called saponins. The saponins trigger a response or irritation in the gut mucosa which then leads to stimulation of the mucous glands in the bronchioles which is essentially a reflex reaction. The saponins in Ivy leaf increase secretions in the respiratory tract which helps to thin out mucus in the chest, making it easier to cough up. Ivy leaf is used therapeutically to help relieve symptoms that affect the respiratory system – in particular coughs and catarrh (inflammation of the nose and throat with increased production of mucus). Ivy leaf may also help to ease cough, help to relieve sinusitis and a buildup of congestion. Glycyrrhiza glabra: Antiviral, antimicrobial, antiinflammatory, hepatoprotective, antispasmodic, demulcent, diuretic, emollient, expectorant, laxative, moderately pectoral and blood pressure increasing effects. Adhatoda vasica: It has bronchodilatory activity. It has been used for the treatment of bronchitis and asthma for many centuries. It relieves cough and breathlessness.

INDICATIONS:

IVA is used in:

● Productive cough, Dry & Irritating cough
● Cough associated with bronchitis (acute & chronic).

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

As directed by the Doctor.

Infants Dose: 2.5ml (half teaspoon) 3 to 4 times daily.
Chidren Dose: 5ml (one teaspoon) 3 to 4 times daily.
Adult Dose: 10ml (two teaspoons) 3 to 4 times daily.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

No any contraindications have been reported.

PRECAUTIONS:

No any special precaution is related to the use of IVA syrup.

ADVERSE DRUG REACTIONS:

Nausea, restlessness may occur.

Protect from light, excessive heat & moisture. Store in a cool & dry place below 30 0C. Keep out of reach of children.
