Vitamin D helps in normal absorption of Calcium as well.

Furthermore, Calcivit Plus contains Magnesium and Zinc. Magnesium helps in energy making along with maintaining bone health. Also, magnesium helps in normal functioning of the nervous system. Calcium adds to normal neuro-transmission. Besides, Zinc helps in antioxidant processes in normal growth and development. CalciVit & CalciVit Plus help in normal functions of the body, particularly bone strengthening.

Importance of Vitamins

Vitamin D and calcium are important for bone growth. Moreover, Calcium directly builds bone and Vitamin D to increase calcium absorption.

Each CalciVit Tablet contains:
Calcium 400mg, Vitamin D3 400IU.
Each CalciVit Plus Tablet contains:
Calcium 400mg, Vitamin D3 400IU, Magnesium 100mg, Zinc 4mg.

Vitamin D3

Bones health: Vitamin D3 is helpful in improving calcium absorption and supporting bone health. Furthermore, without sufficient Vitamin D, bones can become thinner and weaker.

Osteoporosis:

Lesser calcium and intake of Vitamin D gives rise to osteoporosis. Moreover, research proves that Calcium and Vitamin D help older people to fight against osteoporosis.

 

Other conditions:

Vitamin D prevents and treats type 1 and type 2 diabetes, hypertension, glucose intolerance, and also in multiple sclerosis.

 

Bone health and osteoporosis:

Calcium is a major building-block of bone tissues and skeleton. Also, calcium in our bones acts as a ‘reservoir’ for maintaining calcium levels in the blood. Moreover, it is important for healthy nerve and muscle functioning. Osteoporosis, a disorder characterized by soft and weak bones. Also lesser intake of calcium may cause different fractures like vertebrae, wrist, pelvis, ribs, and hip bones.

Moreover, bone loss occurs as a part of the normal ageing process. Postmenopausal women may experience this condition. Many factors increase the risk of developing osteoporosis. Immune function: Zinc deficiency effects immune function. Also, mild degrees of zinc deficiency can cause macrophage and neutrophil functions, natural killer cell activity, and complement activity. PHARMACOKINETICS:

Calcium

The main part of the small intestine absorbs Calcium. The calcium absorption rate is 30% in the gastrointestinal tract.

Moreover, sweat and gastrointestinal secretions eliminate calcium. The urinary calcium excretion depends on the glomerular filtration and rate of tubular resorption of calcium.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is absorbed from the intestine and transported by protein binding in the blood to liver (first hydroxylation) and kidney (second hydroxylation). Moreover, muscle and adipose tissues store non-hydroxylated Vitamin D3. It is eliminated in faeces and urine.

Magnesium

Protein binding of Magnesium is 25-30%. Moreover, Magnesium is excreted only by the kidney at a rate proportional to the serum concentration and glomerular filtration.

Zinc

Zinc is absorbed from the duodenum and ileum. Moreover, phytates may cause absorption by chelation and formation of insoluble complexes at an alkaline pH. Also, endogenous zinc can be reabsorbed in the ileum and colon, creating an enteropancreatic circulation of zinc.

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:

CalciVit Tablets: Take 1 tablet two times daily with meal.
CalciVit Plus Tablets: Take 1 tablet two times daily with meal.

PRECAUTIONS:

Combinations requiring precautions for use:

Cardiac glycosides

Risk of cardiac dysrhythmia. Also, clinical study is required, electrocardiographic and plasma calcium monitoring are recommended.

Thiazide diuretics
Thiazide diuretics reduce the renal elimination of calcium. Moreover, it is recommended that the calcium levels in plasma are monitored regularly.

Tetracyclines, Etidronate, Fluoride and Iron

Calcium includes the absorption of tetracyclines, etidronate, fluoride and iron. Also, Calcivit & Calcivit plus Tablets should be taken at least after a three hour gap.

Strontium

Calcium may reduce the absorption of strontium. Moreover, Risk of a 60 to 70% reduction in strontium bioavailability on concomitant administration of calcium-containing products. It is recommended to avoid taking.

Estramustine and Thyroid hormones

Calcium reduces the absorption of Estramustine and Levothyroxine. Moreover, these medicines should be taken at least two hours before or after eating Calcivit & Calcivit plus tablets.

Orlistat

Treatment with Orlistat may potentially reduce the absorption of Vitamin D. Also,
consult your doctor if you have any medical conditions.

OVERDOSE

Clinical signs: Anorexia, intense thirst, nausea, vomiting, polyuria, polydipsia, dehydration, hypertension, vasomotor disorders, constipation.
Laboratory signs: Hypercalcaemia, hypercalciuria, impaired renal function tests.

Emergency treatment

Immediately stop all calcium and vitamin D supplements.

STORAGE

Protect from light, excessive heat and moisture.
Store in a cool & dry place below 30°C.
Also, you need to keep it away from children.
