DESCRIPTION:

Myo—inositol is a vitamin-like substance. It is found in many plants and animals. It is also produced in the human body and can be made in a laboratory. Inositol can be found in many forms (called isomers). The most common forms are myo-inositol and D—chiro—inositol. Folic acid, USP, N-[p-[[(2-amino—4— hydroxy-6-pteridinyl) methyl]— amino] benzoyl] L-glutamic acid, is a B complex vitamin containing a pteridine moiety linked by a methylene bridge to para—aminobenzoic acid, which is joined by a peptide linkage to glutamic acid. Conjugates of folic acid is present in a wide variety of foods, particularly liver, kidneys, yeast, and leafy green vegetables. Commercially available folic acid is prepared synthetically. Folic acid, USP occurs as a yellow or yellowish orange crystalline powder and is very slightly soluble in water and insoluble in alcohol.

Folate is form of Vitamin B that occurs naturally in many foods. Folic acid is man-made form offolate that is added to processed food or Vitamin and mineral supplements. Folate is needed in human body for red blood cells production. Folic acid is needed for the proper development of the human body. It is involved in producing the genetic material called DNA and in numerous body functions. Some people take inositol by mouth for diabetes, nerve problems caused by diabetes, diabetes diagnosed during pregnancy (gestational diabetes), treating a disorder called metabolic syndrome and conditions associated with menopause and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), including failure to ovulate, high blood pressure, high triglycerides, and high levels of testosterone. It is also used for depression, schizophrenia, autism, Alzheimer’s disease, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), compulsive hair pulling (trichotillomania), panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety disorders but there is limited scientific evidence to support these uses.

Women who are pregnant or might become pregnant take folic acid to prevent miscarriage and “neural tube defects.” Birth defects that occur due to folate deficiency such as spina bifida, when the fetal spine and back do not close during development. Folic acid is also tried for many other conditions including nerve pain in diabetes, heart disease, dementia and many others.

CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY:

Myo-lnositol might balance certain chemicals in the body to possibly help with mental conditions such as panic disorder, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. It might also help insulin work better. This might help with conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome or diabetes during pregnancy.

Folic acid (pteroyglutamic acid) is a vitamin that is transformed to tetrahydrofolate polyglutamate in the body. In the form of a co—enzyme it is a donor for groups with a single carbon unit (e.g. methyl groups). The coenzyme assists, amongst others, the purine synthesis.

INDICATIONS:

Folino Plus is dietary health supplement for females that helps regulate menstrual cycles, improves functions of ovaries and egg quality and balances PCOS related hormonal imbalance and glucose metabolism.

DOSAGE:

The recommended dose of Folino Plus sachet is 1 sachet in the morning and 1 sachet in evening dissolved in a glass of water.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

• Schizophrenia.
• Alzheimer’s disease.
• Autism

WARNINGS & PRECAUTIONS:

These are also POSSIBLY SAFE when used in the hospital for premature infants with a sudden and serious lung condition (acute respiratory distress syndrome or ARDS) for up to 10 days. However, it is POSSIBLY UNSAFE when used for longer than 10 days in premature infants with ARDS.

DRUG-DRUG INTERACTIONS:

It may lower blood sugar and hemoglobin A1 c levels. Watch for signs of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) and monitor your blood sugar carefully if you have diabetes and use inositol.

SIDE EFFECTS:

It can cause nausea, stomach pain, tiredness, headache, and dizziness.

PREGNANCY AND BREAST-FEEDING:

Folino Plus is POSSIBLY SAFE when taken by mouth during pregnancy. During pregnancy seems to reduce the chance of developing diabetes during pregnancy by 60% to 92% in women who are at risk. Not enough is known about the use of inositol during breast-feeding. Stay on the safe side and avoid use.
